You don't have to spend big bucks to find some great games for your iPhone. Apple's App Store has plenty of games that will keep you entertained for hours, and lots of them are free. Here's a list of some of the best free games for your iPhone.
Tap Tap Revenge 2
This is the sequel to Tap Tap Revenge, which was the most downloaded iPhone game in 2008. Version 2 plays much like the original game: You tap designated spots on the screen as balls roll down in time with the music. It's far more addictive that it sounds; before you know it, you and your iPhone will be moving in time with the music. Tap Rap Revenge 2 comes with 150 free songs, but they're only playable within the app. If you like what you hear, though, you can head over to iTunes to make a purchase.
SGN Golf
Don't have time to head to the driving range? Download SGN Golf instead. Swing your iPhone like a golf club, and this free app will tell you how far your shot went. It uses the iPhone accelerometer to gauge the speed of your swing. Just be sure to hold on tightly to your phone as you're swinging it around!
Sol Free Solitaire
This free application includes five different solitaire games: Klondike Deal 1, Klondike Deal 3, Baker's Game, Demon, and Spiderette. Not familiar with all of the titles? Don't worry: All of the games come with easy-to-read instructions. Sol Free tracks your statistics, so you can see how well (or poorly) you're doing, and games are saved when you close the app.
Morocco
If you've ever played the board game Othello, you'll recognize Morocco. It's a version of that strategy game, which is played with two-sided discs. The object of the game is to turn most of the discs on the board to your color, which is either black or white. The iPhone version lets you play against another player (using one phone) or the iPhone. It also offers hints to help you learn how to play.
iBowl
Get all the fun of bowling (well, almost) without the ugly shoes. iBowl lets you swing your iPhone like a bowling ball to see if you can bowl a strike. You can pick your lane, your ball, and you can adjust the position of the ball before you roll. You then bowl away, no ugly shoes required.
